Meet Katie and Andrew Comer, the husband-and-wife team behind Best Day Ever Dog Boutique — Wilmington’s favorite destination for local dog lovers.
What started as a dream inspired by their first dog, Sidney, has grown into a heartfelt business built around one promise: every pup deserves their best day ever.
Katie’s passion for pet wellness and retail, paired with Andy’s background as a Wilmington firefighter, created the perfect blend of care, community, and commitment. Together, they opened Best Day Ever Dog Boutique to offer Wilmington pet owners a trusted, local source for premium dog food, healthy treats, stylish accessories, and gifts for dog lovers — all curated with intention and love.
At the heart of it all is the belief that better nutrition and thoughtful products lead to happier, healthier dogs. Every item on their shelves is hand-selected for quality, safety, and sustainability — from U.S.-made foods free of fillers and by-products, to durable toys, collars, and locally crafted goods that reflect the vibrant coastal community they call home.
But more than a boutique, Best Day Ever has become a hub for Wilmington’s dog-loving community. Katie and Andrew love supporting local rescues, partnering with other small businesses, and connecting with fellow pet parents who share their devotion to giving dogs the best life possible.

It’s really about helping dogs… If a dog’s itching or suffering from hot spots, we try to help with some good food and treats. Many people come back in and say their dog is like a different dog, not itching or having digestive issues anymore.
We want to carry the best stuff we can and keep it affordable. That’s our mission.

At The Best Day Ever Dog Boutique, we believe better food creates healthier dogs. We carry premium dog and cat food and treats, all made in the USA. The food contains no byproducts, no fillers, and is cooked at low temperatures to avoid nutrient burnout.
The store’s open layout is welcoming and intentional, with wide areas for furry friends and their owners to comfortably browse products without fear of maneuvering through tight spaces or around other dogs.
